Aww, look at that lil' cutie!

We finally had a few days of sunshine and warmth. What a pleasure it was to be out in a t-shirt, instead of bundled up!

I am SO bored...

Poor Daisy, she's just as sick of the rain as I am.

Who would have thought that a Golden Retriever wouldn't like water?

My first digital layout!

Woo Hoo! Yipee!!!

Yesterday My Digital Software arrived from Stampin' Up.

And here's my first layout. Double click on it for a better view. I'll have to learn how to size these, I was so excited, I just wanted to get this one up on my blog.

I love this program, I can't believe how many different things I can do with it - cards, calendars, scrapbooking layouts. I can save them onto disks with music and recordings and... well, the possibilities are endless! Just imagine what I will be able to do with my photographs, and then I can play them on the TV screen, print them... ooohhh, I am in HEAVEN.

What a fun day!!!

This blog was designed to share my creative endeavors. For the last six months, it's mainly been a blog about Daisy.

Yesterday, Dana came over with Daisy's brother Bentley. Check out the slide show to see how much fun they had!

Bentley is so much larger, he's a big lovely teddy bear.

We are very excited that Bentley will be staying with us for a week next month.

Daisy is going to be beside herself with joy.

Friends at last !

My two little critters are becoming fast friends. They both follow me everywhere!
When Daisy goes our for her last er... emptying of the tank, Merlin waits inside the back door for her to come back in. How cute is that?

Getting to know you...

Daisy so badly wants to play with Merlin. She doesn't understand that when Merlin is raising his paw at her, that it is a warning that she's about to be slapped, kitty style.

Daisy copies him, and raises her paw at him, I am sure she thinks this is how he plays.

What a great day.

Darissa and her daughter Daebren came over to have a visit with Daisy. I am proud to say that Daisy was well behaved.

And I have to add, four year old Daebren walked her on leash as if Daisy were in a show ring!

Daebren is a natural with dogs, Daisy adores her.

Thanks for coming to vist us!

Our little Wildflower

How to keep up with normal life when a puppy is teething?

Don't bother. Just enjoy her.

Daisy chronicles continued...

It seemed forever waiting to bring Daisy home from the breeder.

Now 4 weeks have gone by.

She had her second set of vaccinations today, and on Monday she starts puppy kindergarten.

She is doing great in the house, house training has been a breeze, and she is responsive and easy to train. She sits to hand signals, and we are now teaching her "down" and " shake a paw".

What Golden Retriever isn't easy if there's food involved?

The Daisy Chronicles

Golden Retriever Puppy = Heavenly

Dedicated Breeder = Priceless

I can't even begin to thank Wendy Lepper for the work that she has put into this litter of pups.

To be able to come home with a little baby Golden who is fine with being handled, who sleeps in a crate, who is fine with being groomed and who stands nicely for her grooming, who SITS behind me as I sprinkle a little water on her dinner, who is on a schedule, so that we know her potty needs are being met.

And to be able to phone Wendy with questions any time day or night - what more can I say...?

Oh my gosh Wendy, how do I even begin to thank you?

Daisy is a really easy puppy. She is responsive and playful, and just hilarious. Yesterday she was multitasking - one hind foot in her ear while the other hind foot was being licked. And what a Gumby dog - she rolls over and plays with toys while on her back. Who needs TV???

Daisy has already taught me so much. Most importantly, wear socks and keep feet out of sight when sitting on the floor and playing with her. Secondly, a little piece of kibble is the best bribe in the world. After doing what she needs to do outside, I call her to me, and always have a little treat handy. This way, she comes to me, and I can scoop her up and take her inside. It's been cold and foggy, and frosty at night.

Collar training is going well, although I will need a larger collar by next week. Tomorrow, I will start umbilical training, and yes, I will remember to spray the leash with Bitter Apple first.

Too many cute pictures, so I had to create a slide show.

Her registered name will be "Spriritlodge Let It Be". The perfect name, since Goldens have to have everything in their mouths.

Yup, I'm lovin' this!!!

Our home is complete!

We have had dogs for 30 years. Waiting for Daisy to be born and then old enough to come home was a long, long wait.

We got her into a crate, and she screamed and barked and moaned all the way home.

To be fair, she was in a cat crate, how undignified is THAT?

She is a lovely, lovely little pup, playful, curious, and very sweet. Tonight is her first night without littermates, we'll see if we can play her out so she'll sleep until at least 4 am.

If tomorrow's post is a bit wonky, you'll know it didn't go so well.

Just kidding.

Sunday and Stamp Club

My mom really liked this picture, so I thought I would use it for today's post. Daisy had just licked my chin when this picture was shot - no, I am not kissing her on the nose.

Are you getting sick of puppy pictures yet? Sorry, I'm not!

I had a great day today - it was Stamp Club at Sue F's and I made some lovely cards with Sue F and Kathy.
Sue has a great eye for colour combinations and the cards we make are beautiful.
Thanks goodness Sue's really patient, I felt like I was all thumbs today! One of the cards I made today is posted on my photo blog.

Kathy's back was really bad - hope you are better soon Kathy!

Meet our Daisy!

This is her!!!

Yesterday the puppies had their ears tattooed, and I requested a picture beforehand, so that I wouldn't be posting a picture of our green eared puppy.

Tomorrow we see her again, and thank goodness the weather is cooperating, and the roads are clear.

Oh Geez, did I just jinx myself by saying the weather is cooperating?

We did a lot of research before deciding which breeder to use. We found Spiritlodge Golden Retrievers through the Canadian Kennel Club. All the puppies are beautiful and healthy, and Wendy couldn't be more helpful.

January 19th we pick her up, and man oh man, I get butterflies in my tummy when I look at the pictures of her.

This is going to be a great weekend - we visit Daisy tomorrow, and then Stamp Club at Sue F's on Sunday.
Yay!!!

A New Year !

A New Year and a new look for my blog. Time to show off some of my creative talents as well as sharing my thoughts.

I am joining the 365 day photo challenge, and have to start a day late, as yesterday my family came over to finally celebrate Christmas. We had a great time!

Here's George with his Christmas present from me, a photo that was taken by Izzy. I had it blown up into a poster for him and he loved it!

Only 17 more days until we bring Daisy home ...
